“The Yes Man Are Revolting” film screening at the Tofino Film Festival

Bring a friend and share a laugh to promote cultural change!

Hosted by Friends of Clayoquot Sound

Do you enjoy comic documentaries about pressing current events? This latest Yes Men film documents activist-pranksters doing outrageous stunts designed to draw awareness to climate change. The latest film by the Yes Men will play as part of the Tofino Film Festival on Friday, February 17th, 7 pm in the Clayoquot Sound Theatre.

Through humour and play, The Yes Men movies tell tales of defeating corporate greed in an effort to protect natural resources and democracy. If you’ve never heard of the Yes Men, you’re in for a treat; if you’ve followed their antics in earlier films, you’ll delight in new creative efforts to capture the attention of the public. The film chronicles the past five years of Yes Men pranksters, Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno (not their real names), activists known for impersonating corporate CEOs and government officials. In The Yes Men Are Revolting, they travel to Washington, Copenhagen, Uganda, and the Alberta tar sands to raise consciousness on climate change. As always, some pranks fizzle while others turn into media whirlwinds — and one case brings a threat of legal action more serious than any the Yes Men have ever encountered before. You don’t want to miss how this one turns out!

Doors open 7 pm on Friday, February 17th. After introductory remarks, the film will start at 8:00 pm sharp. The evening ends at 10 pm.

All are welcome.
