Peaceful Direct Action workshop
“No amount of rules or their enforcement will defeat those who struggle with justice on their side.” – Nelson Mandela
How do we challenge injustice? Where do we turn when our legal systems and governments have failed us? What can disempowered and disenfranchised groups do to gain a voice? Direct Action removes the middleman from the power equation, empowering us to change our circumstances and shift power dynamics. On January 25th, join this workshop on Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA); an ideal forum for learning about the power and importance of NVDA as well as how to plan and engage in a direct action!
This event will be peaceful and is open to all people with interest in learning about or participating in Civil Disobedience and Direct Action. Participation in this workshop does not require participation in any protests, does not reflect your political orientation or affiliation and no one will be asked to act outside of their comfort zone.
All Welcome.
Co-sponsored by the Friends of Clayoquot Sound, SocialCoast and Social Environmental Alliance - SEA.
